This release is mostly about the chart on your screen: chords that stay where they belong when a line wraps, reference tracks you can find without leaving the song, and a couple of ways to make a chart read the way you want it to.
Chords stay with their words
On a narrow screen, a long line used to wrap the chord row and the lyric row separately, so chords drifted away from the words they sit above. The two now wrap together as one unit — a chord stays on the syllable it was typed on, however narrow the screen gets. Charts written in Cb, Fb or E# also transpose correctly now instead of quietly staying put.
Find a reference track without leaving the song
A song's references can now be searched from inside the song itself, across Spotify, YouTube and Apple Music. Type a title, listen to the candidates, and attach the right recording. Pasting a share link still works for albums, playlists, or anything a search doesn't turn up.
Make a chart read the way you want
Account settings now include display preferences for songs. You can color-code sections by kind or keep them all neutral, and show chords as colored text or with a soft highlight behind them. The choice applies to every song you open on that device and takes effect right away.
Also in this release
Compressed MusicXML files are now turned away at upload instead of being stored as unreadable notation; space owners can no longer be removed from their own space; delete confirmations stay loading until the work actually finishes and tell you when it fails; and the homepage no longer bounces you between the app and the public site after signing out or reloading quickly. The public site is also English-only now and lives entirely on song7.io — the language choice for the app moved to the sign-in screen and your user menu.
